After launching the IdeaPad Gaming 3i (2021) laptop in India last month, Lenovo today announced a ton of new products at its annual Tech World 2021 virtual event. These include two new laptops, a couple of tablets, and a new Chromebook device. hybrid with removable display. So, let’s take a quick look at the specs and key features of these devices.
Lenovo announces new laptops, tablets and a Chromebook
Yoga Slim Series 7 laptops
Starting with laptops, the Yoga Sim 7 series includes two models: Yoga Slim 7 Carbon and Yoga Slim 7 Pro. The Yoga Slim 7 Pro boasts a 16-inch QHD touch display with support for a 120Hz refresh rate, while the Yoga The low-end Slim 7 Carbon features a 14-inch display with a 90Hz refresh rate.
Under the hood, the Slim 7 Pro packs up to the AMD Ryzen 7 5800H processor along with the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 GPU. The Slim 7 Carbon, on the other hand, packs an AMD Ryzen 7 5800U mobile processor along with an Nvidia GeForce MX450 GPU. Both devices contain up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of SSD storage. While the Yoga Slim 7 Pro comes with microSD slot support to expand storage space or enhance your creative workflow, the Slim 7 Carbon lacks the feature.
As for the battery, the Yoga Slim 7 Pro can provide 12.5 hours of use on a single charge. The Slim 7 Carbon, however, comes with a support for longer battery life. It can provide up to 14.5 hours of battery life on a single charge. Additionally, users can find two USB-A ports, one USB-C port, and one HDMI port on the Slim 7 Pro. However, the lower-end Slim 7 Carbon only comes with two USB-A and one USB-C.
As for the design, the Yoga Slim 7 Pro weighs around 2.1kg and is 17.4mm thick. However, if users want a more portable option, they might opt for the Slim 7 Carbon as it features a carbon fiber construction and weighs just over 1kg.
Lenovo Duet 5 Chromebook
In addition to the Yoga laptops, Lenovo also revealed a new two-in-one Chromebook device: the Lenovo Duet 5. The device has a 13.3-inch touch-enabled OLED panel that can be easily detached from the keyboard to turn it into a Chrome Tablet with operating system. Lenovo Duet 5 Chromebook packs the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 processor inside, along with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage.
Additionally, it comes with an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera for selfies and video calling. There are also two USB ports on the device. As for the battery, the Chromebook Duet 5 can run for up to 15 hours on a single charge.
Lenovo P series tablet
Lenovo P11 5G
In addition to the new laptops and hybrid Chromebook, Lenovo also announced two new tablets: P11 5G and P12 Pro.
Lenovo P11 5G is equipped with an 11-inch display with a maximum resolution of 2000 x 1660p. Under the hood, the device has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G chipset, along with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. Users can also expand the internal memory, thanks to the integrated microSD slot. Also, as the name suggests, the device comes with support for 5G and Wi-Fi 6 networks.
Additionally, the P11 5G is equipped with a single 13MP camera sensor on the back and an 8MP front camera. Other than that, you have four JBL speakers on board and at huge 7,000mAh battery which supports 20W fast charging
Lenovo P12 Pro
Now, coming to the high-end P12 Pro tablet, it comes in two variants: with or without support for 5G networks. There is a Wi-Fi only variant of the device launched at the event. It boasts a 12.6-inch AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and a maximum resolution of 2500 x 1600p. It also supports HDR10 + and Dolby Vision technology to deliver an immersive viewing experience.
Under the hood, the device packs the Snapdragon 870 SoC paired with up to 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. Additionally, there is a microSD card slot to further expand the internal storage.
As for the cameras, the P12 Pro features a dual-camera setup on the back, including a 13MP main lens and a 5MP ultra wide-angle lens. For selfies and video calling, the device packs a 5MP front camera.
Turning to the battery, the tablet is equipped with a huge 10,200 mAh battery which supports 45W fast charging. There is also an integrated fingerprint sensor on the power button. Additionally, there are pogo pins for connecting other accessories such as the optional keyboard accessory.
Price and availability
While there is no information on when the company plans to make the devices available for purchase, Lenovo has revealed the prices of the devices.
Hence, the Yoga Slim 7 Carbon starts at $ 1,290 (~ Rs. 94,913) and the Slim 7 Pro starts at $ 1,449 (~ Rs. 1,06,612) in the US. The Lenovo Duet 5 Chromebook starts at $ 430 (~ Rs 31,637) for the base model.
Moving on to the P-series tablet devices, the Lenovo P11 5G starts at $ 590 (~ Rs 43,410), while the Wi-Fi-only variant of the P12 Pro starts at $ 610 (~ Rs 44,881).
Lenovo will launch all of the above devices in October. The new Yoga laptops are Windows 11-based devices and will run the operating system right away. While the company hasn’t announced an official launch date yet, we can expect Lenovo to start selling these products as soon as Microsoft begins rolling out Windows 11 for compatible devices, starting October 5th.
