More than a decade ago when I was in college, I had the same Google Voice phone number. I moved (I think not) Seven times Since then, not a single person I still know from the Brian College Station area has contacted me. So when spammers copy my area code in an inconsistent manner, I only answer the phone if I want to waste time making noise with some criminals.
I’ve literally waited for years for someone to offer me an easy way to avoid numbers starting with 979, and I did not think Verizon would be the one to deliver it. But here we are: the updated Verzion filter filter program allows users to match all input numbers with a region code and the following three digits to the user number. This is an increasingly common tactic used by spammers who are forging numbers and trying to appear as someone in your area or even in your shared phone plan.
This is a free version of the operating system and does not require $ 3 per month for even more features, although these users can add up to five additional area code number filters to the list. Individual numbers can be allowed to pass through filters if necessary.
Hi Google, AT&T, T-Mobile and any other telecommunications company that allows billions of spam calls through annual inactivity: Please copy this feature immediately. I get 20-30 spam calls every week, as opposed to maybe two real people I know. Just filtering the first three numbers will halve the number of annoying spam calls I receive, if not more.
Verizon Call Filter is a free service for all Verizon subscribers provided through the app on Google Play on Android. The last update for Android and iOS was last month. It is not clear if the new filter feature is still active.
